Shingle Run
[edit]- ... that the stream Shingle Run is actually named after sawmills?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Red Shirley
- Comment: You'd expect a stream named after sawmills to be called Sawmill Run. not Shingle Run, and you'd expect Shingle Run to be named after shingles, not sawmills.

- This is not a review. The hook worked, because I clicked on it but I felt cheated that the article didn't tell me why it was named after the sawmills. Did they have shingles, make shingles, run by a family called shingles .... so yes hooky, but not very satisfying. Victuallers (talk) 09:23, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- I think it's satisfying for precisely that reason! I would like to see mention of what it actually is though... "that the stream Shingle Run]]... Maury Markowitz (talk) 15:57, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Maury Markowitz: Fair enough. I personally find it obvious that a run is a type of stream, but I do work with these kinds of articles a lot and others might not realize that. --Jakob (talk) 16:07, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
- Length, newness, cites, hook, QPQ all good to go. Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:54, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
